Welcome to BrayZen Driving's terms and conditions. These terms govern your use of our driving lesson services. By booking a lesson or using our services, you agree to comply with and be bound by the following terms and conditions. Please read them carefully.
Terms & Conditions
At BrayZen Driving, we believe in clear communication and transparency. Below you'll find answers to some of the most frequently asked questions regarding our driving lessons and services. If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to contact us.
General
Your instructor is bound by a professional code of conduct. Your instructor will be courteous, polite, tidy and punctual. He will also always behave in a professional and ethical manner.
Your instructor’s vehicle will be well maintained, clean and tidy. All vehicles used by the instructors are fitted with dual controls as part of their standard equipment. The vehicle of course is fully insured for driving lessons.
Your instructor is ADI (Approved Driving Instructor) qualified and fully licensed by the Road Safety Authority (RSA) to give driving tuition.
Driving Licence
The learner must hold a current, valid driving license (full or learner permit), which must be produced on or in advance of their first lesson.
You must bring your Learner Permit or EU License with you to each driving lesson.
Remember, it is an offence to drive without your Learner Permit.
Not having your Learner Permit, means a lesson cannot be conducted, resulting in loss of fee paid for lesson.
If there are driving restrictions on your Learner Permit preventing you from driving there will be no lesson given and any fees paid will be lost.
Your instructor will use their discretion to decide if you are fit to drive as regards legal and medical requirements. If not fit to drive the lesson will be cancelled with the resulting loss of any fee paid. Your instructor’s decision is final.
Payments and Cancellations
Payment must be made prior to commencement of lesson. Please note that you need to give 24 hours’ notice to cancel a lesson. If you fail to give notice your instructor will use their discretion to decide if you should be charged for the lesson.
Lesson packages and bundles must be paid in advance. From the date of purchase, you have the right to cancel any payment for driving lessons within 14 days and receive a refund. We will do our best to accommodate your required lesson times and dates, but they are dependent on Instructor availability.
Your instructor will make every effort to ensure the lesson starts and finishes on time, but we reserve the right to postpone, cancel and alter lesson lengths (start/finish times) due to unforeseen circumstances. This could be due to any number of reasons: instructor out sick, heavy traffic, bad weather conditions etc. In the event of a cancellation by us we will reschedule the lesson.
What areas do you cover?
BrayZenDriving operates within the Bray area and covers South Dublin and North Wicklow. Please contact us to confirm if we cover your specific location.
What if I have special requirements?
We strive to accommodate all learners. Please inform us of any special requirements you may have during booking so we can make the necessary arrangements.
The Driving Test
Bookings
Driving test bookings always take priority over other lessons. Therefore, your lesson may be postponed allowing for someone else’s driving test and vice-versa. Changes to lesson bookings because of this will be notified immediately. Test appointments must be notified to your instructor as soon as they are known; otherwise we cannot guarantee to provide a vehicle for your test.
Use of the Vehicle
In the interest of customer and public safety your instructor reserves the right to withhold the use of a vehicle for the test if, in their opinion, your driving is actually or potentially dangerous.
Test Cancellation
The Driving School cannot be held responsible for any postponement or cancellation by the RSA.
While every effort is made to keep the school car roadworthy, the school cannot be held responsible for any mechanical breakdown while on the driving test and any sequential loss.
Punctuality
In their own interests’ learners are advised to be punctual for their lesson appointments. If the instructor is waiting more than15 minutes past the start time, the lesson may be abandoned and the lesson fee forfeited.
A reciprocal waiting time may become necessary if the instructor is delayed due to unforeseen circumstances. Any lesson time lost because of this would be made up
by the instructor either at the end of the normal lesson time if possible or at a later date.
Comfort and Safety
In the interest of comfort and safety learners are advised to wear suitable footwear and clothing which does not restrict movement. Learners must also take note of any
medication they are taking that may affect their ability to drive safely and advise their instructor accordingly before taking any lesson booked.
Bad behaviour will not be tolerated from students, and we reserve the right to terminate the lesson at once without compensation of your fee.
Pick up & Drop off Locations
Pick up and drop off locations must be agreed in advance (at time of booking). Should the instructor have to drive the student to the training area because of public safety this journey will constitute part of the lesson. The instructor will give a running commentary on the journey to alert the student to all safety aspects of the drive.
Training Vehicles
Our training vehicles are fully taxed, insured for driving instruction, in roadworthy condition and fitted with dual controls for your safety.
If you opt for training in your vehicle, you must have L Plates, front and rear, vehicle needs to have a valid Tax and Insurance disc displayed and have a current NCT, where applicable. Evidence of named insurance is required.
Your rights
These terms do not affect your right under consumer legislation.
The Driving School retains the right to change any of the above terms without notification.
Driving Instructors are regulated by the Road Safety Authority in Ireland.
